MS Visio : What are basic file types ?

1.Stencils (.vss)

Collection of shapes either predetermined by the template that you choose, or 

chosen from custom stencil.

2.Drawings (.vsd)

Default extension for every Visio drawing. 

Contains stencils, pictures, formatting etc.

3.Templates (.vst)

Reusable drawings
