In JSP, you can specify the error page to be invoked when any error or exception is encountered.
Exception and error can be handled by using two page directives
<%@ page errorPage="errorPage.jsp" %>
and
<%@ page isErrorPage="true" %>
The JSP page where the exception can occur specifies the error page name to be invoked and the error page also needs to specify its status whether it is errorpage.
To test the error, you have to invoke the exception through statements.

In the above example, we are invoking an exception by setting a variable text of string type to null.
<%= text.length() %> invokes an exception (NullPointerException) that would be shown on the "errorPage.jsp
