Examples

Find last month
PREV_MONTH=`date +'%m' -d 'last month'`
if today' s date is 11-04-2014, it will give 03.

PREV_MONTH_YEAR=`date +'%Y' -d 'last month'`
if today 's date is 11-04-2014, it will give 2014.
if today' s date is 05-01-2014, it will give 2013.
