How to export the Oracle database dump ?


Exporting database dump

1. Login with databse user for example: oracle

2. Use exp command to export database.
  Oracle$ exp

3. Enter user name and password for which database we want to create dump
    Username: db_prod
  Password: db_prod

4. Enter buffer size (Here 4096 is the default buffer size). If we want to change the buffer size enter the size.
  Enter array fetch buffer size: 4096 > 9999

5. Enter dump file name to be created. (here expdat.dmp is the default dump file name).
    To change the dump file name, enter the file name with extension .dmp.
    Export file: expdat.dmp> mydump.dmp

6. In next 4 steps, press Enter (default option) :
    (2)U(sers), or (3)T(ables) : (2)U >  [ENTER]
  Exportgrants (yes/no): yes >  [ENTER]
  Exporttable data (yes/no): yes >  [ENTER]
  Compressextents (yes/no): yes >  [ENTER]

Now the dump file mydump.dmp is created.
